IDSP operates in the following Provinces and Districts of Zambia: Lusaka (Chirundu & Chilanga), Central (Chisamba, Kabwe, Mkushi & Serenje); Copperbelt (Mufulira, Lufwanyama & Luanshya); Eastern (Lumezi & Mambwe); Luapula (Mansa); Muchinga (Mpika); North Western (Kasempa & Mwinilunga); Southern (Pemba, Namwala & Zimba); Western (Kaoma).
IDSP approved and funded 13 sub-projects from five (5) Public Institutions, namely; Zambia National Service (ZNS), Zambia Correctional Service (ZCS), Zambia Police Service (ZPS), Zambia College of Agriculture (ZCA-Mpika), and the Zambia Center for Horticultural Training (ZCHT).
These sub-projects were ratified to enable Public Institutions to access Investment Support Funds for the acquisition of productive irrigation equipment and assets, at a total budgetary provision of US$8,910,819.25 to cover a total of 2,348 hectares once operational.
The subprojects are 100 per cent complete in so far as supply and installation of irrigation are concerned. However, operationalization of the subproject has been slow due to the slow pace at which land clearing, levelling and ripping is being done by the grant recipients.
